[October 2023] How to Earn Passive Income through Lazada Affiliate Program PH [Guide]

For some people, when they say Lazada, first to sink-in in their mind is all about online shopping, leisure and other online services especially products and many more. But for us online marketer, Lazada is not only about this stuff. For online marketer and affiliates, this is just an opportunity to earn passive income thru the biggest online shopping app in asia.

                               

But first, what is an Affiliate?

In a Simple definition, an affiliate marketer is a person, entity or groups of people who sign up thru an affiliate programs, like Lazada, Shopee, Amazon, eBay etc., primarily to promote products and services with this website. The main role of an affiliate marketer is to drive traffic and sales to this platform to be able to earn a commission. Lazada and Shopee is the most popular affiliate programs here in the Philippines or maybe the two available as of now.

So how does an affiliate marketer earns from this platform?

Every affiliate marketer, who sign up to an affiliate program, has a unique tools and materials to use given by this platform, that can be used to promote products and services online. The affiliate marketer acts as an advertiser or a third party partner between the seller and platform in exchange of a commission for every sales, traffics or clicks that the affiliate can drive to this platform. Cost Per Sale or CPC is the most popular and most successful program for me because it has a higher and stable commission on my experience. This is how I earned passive income thru Lazada and quit my 8-6 job so I can focused to this much bigger opportunity.

How can an affiliate earn from advertising a product from this platform?

From the given tools and materials by the platform, the affiliate marketer can start promoting products and services in whatever legal ways the affiliate wants to. For example, an affiliate marketer can promote products and services in this platform, and he/she can share it through social media platforms, like Facebook. Twitter, Instagram or maybe in vlogging thru Youtube or a simple blogsite. Deeplinking is the main tool used advertiser to promote these products. A Deeplink is a special or unique url provided by the platform used to integrate the products links and the unique url id of every affiliates. In short, this deeplink url is like a fingerprint where one affiliate have unique or personal deeplink url to promote. For every clicks and sales that the deeplink will generate, a commission in given.

In platform like Lazada affiliate program, every affiliate marketer can earn as high as 10% for every successful sale the affiliate can produced. And can go as high as 50% from some other seller.

I’m not discouraging anyone not to join to any affiliate programs, but we just want here to set your mind on what will be the consequences if you join to any of these affiliate programs. We also not want to waste any time and effort, especially money because this can turn into something we don’t want to experience.

Ok, So you finally decided to join the Lazada affiliate program? Here’s the process!

There are two ways to join the Lazada Affiliate Program in Philippines. One is the direct Lazada Affiliate PH and the other is thru third party international agency from Involve Asia. But For now, I will discuss only the first option thru Lazada Affiliate PH.

Here we go!

Visit the main affiliate link of Lazada PH thru adsense.lazada.com.ph. You will see that there are many option to sign up. But all those are the same, don’t worry. For me, I signed up on my google account so it will be synchronized to my email etc. You can sign up thru facebook but make sure that the details on your fb account is real so I won’t have any problem or conflicts on the future.

After successful sign up, you will ask to enter your personal details. Make sure that the details are true and real because this will affect your approval on the affiliate program. You will then ask where your traffic will be. For as far as I remember they are many option to choose from. You can select your own fb page, Youtube channel, or a blogsite. Complete other info and requirements required  by Lazada and finished signing up.

Wait for 3-5 Days for the Lazada’s email if your registration is successful. Usually, it may take a while for them to send an email because of the bulk registration they received everyday. If you received the email from Lazada saying that your account is successfully created, you can now proceed to the main registration of the program.

Wow, there is still registration after the first one?

If your question is the same as the above, my answer is YES!. There is still another registration you will need to be able to complete your affiliate account to Lazada Affiliate Program. There is two option on how to do this.

First, After you have completed your account registration thru Google etc, Lazada will now ask what type of account you will sign up, the BIR activated account or the Agency Pass-Through Payment account. Last August 2020, they implement this kind of account registration to make sure that all of their affiliates are registered under BIR and paying the right tax.

So what are the difference of these two?

BIR Activated Account is the preferred account by many affiliates because of the many privilege you will have upon successful and completing the registration under this account. First, You will need to complete all BIR documents that Lazada will require, before your account will be activated as an affiliate.

This will include the following:

For Individual

• -          A Valid Government Issued ID
• -          A Bank Certificate (Any Active Bank)
• -          BIR 2303 (You can get this in any BIR office)
• -          Blank Copy of Official Receipt (OR) – (You can get this in any BIR office)

 For Companies

• -          Certificate Of Incorporation
• -          Bank Certificate
• -          BIR 2303
• -          Blank Copy of Official Receipt (OR) – (You can get this in any BIR office)

-      You can email the Lazada Affiliate support after your account is successfully created, so they can assist you for the next step on how to send these files on them. Usually, they will email you regarding this process, where they send a link on where to upload these documents. As far as I know, BIR Activated Accounts are much more faster to process than the other Agency Pass-Through Account, and may take only 5 business days to process. BIR Activated Account is usually taxed 10% of the total commission earned by the affiliate which is less than the Agency Pass-Thru Account. You will also need to file tax declaration document to BIR, and the BIR 2303 plus COR every month to Lazada.

The second option to qualified to the Lazada Affiliate program is thru a 3^rd party agency under and supervised by Lazada. The JPI Entertainment is the Agency who handles and processed the payments to those who sign up this option. There are less requirements when you sign up thru this Agency activated account but has a high consequences in terms of tax. Agency Pass-Thru accounts charged a 29% tax reduction from the earned commission of the affiliates. This is 19% higher than the BIR Activated account. Thus, you won’t need to file BIR documents to BIR and Lazada because the JPI Entertainment Agency will process this for you in exchange of the percentage tax they will charged your account every payout.

For Agency Pass-Thru Payments there are only three requirements.

• -          A fully Accomplished form from Lazada
• -          Bank Certificate
•    A Consent form that will be sent to your email authorizing JPI to process your payout and deduct necessary fees to your account.

-   After sending necessary documents for BIR Activated account and Agency Passs-Thru Payment Account, you will have to wait again for 1 week to 2 weeks for Lazada to process your application. If successful, you can now go to your Lazada Dashboard and start promoting products for you to earn a commission. Every commission earned or approved from the first day of every month to the last day on each month will be included to the final payout. Lazada affiliate program is validating approved commission 45 days from the end of each month and will reflect to your dashboard every first and second day of every month. Invoice will be emailed first for BIR Activated Account before the final pay will be processed by CITI. Make sure that your total commission reached the minimum payout of 1200 pesos so Lazada can process your payout. Usually, BIR Activated Account get their payout every 21^st of the month after 45 days validation, except for holidays and may change without prior notice.

For Agency Pass-Thru Account, they usually get paid every 15^th of every month, which is faster than the BIR Activated Account. You will just need to double your effort for this account since this account is taxed higher than the other. Php 1200 is also need to process your payout thru JPI every month.

Conclusion.

For me, Lazada Affiliate Program is still the best affiliate program here in the Philippines, since it gives more option to choose whether what type of individual you are. If you don’t have any work or jobs and want to focused on online marketing, the BIR Activated account is the best for you. Just Complete the BIR requirements and work on your daily goals to be able to earn commission. But if you are a busy person and do not want to have a headache submitting BIR documents, the Agency Pass-Thru Account is the right account for you. Just explore some tools on the internet or study How to use fb ads for your advertising needs.
