Magnitude 6.6 Earthquake Off Coast of Catanduanes Triggers Tsunami Warning, Says Phivolcs.

Phivolcs reported a magnitude 6.6 earthquake off the coast of Catanduanes, with its epicenter 120 km S 88° E of Gigmoto town at a depth of nine kilometers.

The monitoring agency warned residents of Catanduanes, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar to be on alert for higher-than-normal waves due to a "minor sea level disturbance" caused by the quake.

The agency also issued a tsunami warning, stating that the first waves may arrive between 09:02 p.m. to 12:54 a.m. on April 5th, 2023 (PST).
